etcd comes to Salt

March 21, 2014 - Thomas Hatch

This is just a quick post about etcd support in Salt ! Coming in the next release code-named Helium, we have introduced execution modules, returners and an external pillar for etcd.

This makes it easy to use Salt to grab configuration data directly out of etcd from pillar, in file templates, within sls files, or to use etcd as a Salt Job cache. All configuration interfaces can now merge cleanly with data gathered directly from etcd!
