More than just Config Management Camp

SaltStack at Config Management Camp 2015

SaltStack has sponsored and attended Config Management Camp for years. But this year is different, and better. The content and agenda this year is about more than just config management which more effectively reflects the power and capability of the SaltStack orchestration and automation platform.

This year Config Management Camp talk tracks have been dedicated to topics like orchestration and container management, in addition to configuration management, and that suits us just fine. We figure it is about time.

As usual, Config Management Camp will be held in Gent, Belgium, Feb. 1-2, 2016. SaltStack is a gold sponsor and we have a Salt community room dedicated to Salty topics with talks from six speakers. Dave Boucha and C. R. Oldham from the SaltStack engineering team will be in attendance and give talks on data-driven orchestration for event-driven infrastructure and on all the non-standard hardware management possibilities available through the Salt Proxy Minion function. The Config Management Camp Salt community room agenda can be found here.

Other talks in the Salt community room

  • Arthur Lutz – Roll Out Active Supervision with SaltStack, Graphite and Grafana
  • Arnold Bechtoldt – Automated Application Deployment with SaltStack Orchestration
  • Stephen Benjamin – SaltStack Integration with Foreman
  • Boris Feld – Saltpad – A Modern Web UI for SaltStack

After all the talks and at the end of the day on Feb. 2, we have scheduled  open space meeting in the Salt community room. With a lot of great content jammed into a small window of time, we want to make sure we address any unanswered questions from attendees or to discuss any relevant topics not covered in the scheduled talks. Dave and C. R., plus many of the the Salt community room speakers will be on hand to lead the discussion and answer questions.

So find us in Gent next week…we might have some cool SaltStack swag for Salt community room attendees.
